Summers and High Adventure with Troop 26

Summer Camp plays an important role in the Scouting program at Troop 26. It is the ideal place for new Scouts to make enormous strides in their rank advancement requirements toward their Second and First Class rank advancement.

Summer Camp also offers new and more experienced Scouts the chance to earn merit badges toward their next rank. Most importantly, Summer Camp with Troop 26 is a time to learn the independence of camping for a week and is a great place to simply have fun.

In the past, the Troop has attended various Summer Camp location in Virginia and traveled as far away as New York.

High Adventure Camps for older Scouts

Older Scouts can attend a High Adventure Base camp in addition to Summer Camp. Because of physical and emotional demands, Scouts must be 13 in January of the year they desire to go to on an high adventure trek (some high adventure camps have other requirements as well). We have taken crews to Florida National High Adventure Sea Base, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and Northern Tier in Minnesota (during the winter program!).
